Please join us at Petco in Brooklawn Center next door to Kroger in Farragut on Saturday, September 4 from 1 - 4 p.m. for our upcoming adoption event. If you plan to attend this event and would like to see a particular dog, please let us know in advance since we don't always take every dog to every event.

Please join us at the Young Williams Animal Center on September 11 from 11 to 12 for a Toy Breeds Pet Parenting class. Please contact YWAC to register for the class.

Please join us a the 1st Annual Doggie Dip on September 11^th from 10am to 2pm hosted by the City of Knoxville at Inskip Pool at 4204 Bruhin Rd. The outdoor pool will be open to dogs, and there will also be veterinarians, rescue groups and retailers there to promote their business or to help adopt out pets in need of homes. Save the date! The SBRET Reunion for past adopters and their dogs will be on Sunday, September 26 at PetSafe Village in Knoxville from 2-5. Invitations are going out the first week of September. Thanks for joining us at the West Knoxville location (9200 Kingston Pike at Cedar Bluff Road) of Enrichment Federal Credit Union for their Pet-A-Palooza event.

Families and their pets were welcome at this fun-filled event on Saturday, August 28 from 10 am to 2 pm . There were lots of pet-related vendors offering information and discounts, pet photography, and more! Of course, SBRET had Chihuahua Palooza as part of this event since we have so many Chihuahuas that need forever homes. Click here for a few pictures from the event.

We'd like to a say thank you to all of our past adopters who stopped by and visited and to the folks who brought their Chihuahuas for a visit. A big thanks to Katy Jett and Enrichment Federal Credit Union for inviting us to their annual Pet-A-Palooza celebration and for all they do for homeless animals in the community. Thanks also go to Spike for being such a good Chihuahua ambassador.

Christmas in the summertime? It's never too early to start working on your pet's Christmas stocking! Mrs. Wilson (a wonderful past adopter) teamed up with the great folks at Midsouth's Best Sewing Center in the Gallery Shopping Center in West Knoxville to teach two classes in making adorable pet stockings. The dog stocking class was in July and the cat stocking class was in August. There was a $15 supply fee and donations were accepted for SBRET in lieu of a charge for the class. People didn't even have to bring their sewing machines since the nice folks at Midwouth's Best Sewing let them their sewing machines. All materials were included in the $15 supply fee. Thank you Mrs. Wilson and Midsouth's Best Sewing Center for donating the proceeds of the dog and cat stocking classes. Your generosity will help offset the veterinary expenses for our rescue dogs.

Thanks for joining us at Bark in the Park after Dark on Saturday, May 15 . The event was sponsored by the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley (HSTV) and SBRET shared a booth with SOS Beagle. This was supposed to be East Tennessee's biggest party for dogs and their people, but the rain caused a few problems. More info is available at www.HumaneSocietyTennessee.com. We had a very soggy, stormy Bark in the Park huddled under our tent, but we sure enjoyed visiting with the few people that did come to the event.

Thanks for joining us for the Knoxville Track Club's Annual Dogwood Classic Road Race and Fitness Walk and Dog Walk on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the west end of Cherokee Boulevard in Sequoyah Hills! The race began at 8am and the dog walk will begin shortly after that. There was a $15 fee to participate in the dog walk that was along the river in Sequoyah Hills Park!

This event was sponsored by PetSafe Village, and they had many pet related vendors and rescue groups there! SBRET participated as a rescue group from 7 am to 10 pm but did not participate in the walk. Thanks to everyone that visited our booth to meet some of our dogs and purchase dog products to help support our rescue efforts.
