Hello...Chloe here! I am a sweet, 12-pound female Terrier mix - about 3 years old. I came to SBRET limping and, after a trip to our vet, discovered I had a torn ACL. I had surgery to repair the ACL tear. I still do a lot of 3-legged walking and running; my vet thinks some of that might be habit but my leg is totally healed and I am working on building up those muscles.
I start off being very shy in new situations, but when I fall in love with my people, I am devoted. I tend to be less shy around women than men. I love treats so that is a good way to win my heart. I do really well with other dogs and it would be nice if other dogs are in my forever family but it is not as necessary as a person who wants a cuddle dog. I want to be right beside you when you watch TV or read a book.
I do very well in a crate at night but would probably rather be beside you in bed. I am potty trained. I have not had one potty accident in my foster family's home but I do get to go outside a whole bunch to run around, explore, and potty. I do well on a leash but would really like a fenced yard.
I am very excited about greeting you when you've gone out and come back in. My foster mom is working on my jumping (I can jump straight up!) and only gives me the attention I want when I calm down. I am a "pleaser" and want to do anything that makes you happy. Young children make me nervous so an adult home or one with children over 12 years old will be best--I am not aggressive just uncomfortable with young children. I am up to date on all my shots, on heartworm and flea preventative, microchipped, and spayed plus had the ACL surgery to fix my leg. My adoption fee is $175.
