Meet Delaney. She is a 1-year-old female Shih Tzu mix and weighs 15 lbs. Delaney came into rescue with an untreated allergy that caused her to scratch to the point of making her skin raw. We are unsure if it was a flea allergy or a food allergy, but she is doing much better now that she is flea-free and eating healthy dog food. She still has some bald spots but her hair should grow back in nicely. She is currently on a round of antibiotics to hopefully get her skin completely under control.

Delaney is all-around a happy little girl. She gets along with the other dogs and cats in her foster home. She loves to play with both. She also enjoys playing with her toys and scattering them around the house. At night she sleeps in a crate next to the bed. During the day if she is alone she prefers to be loose rather than in a crate. She does well using a puppy pad if she can't get outside. If a puppy pad is not available she will have an accident. Since she is still young, she can be a bit puppy-like and chew on things she is not supposed to so things that aren't supposed to be chewed on need to be kept out of her reach. She likes to have lots of toys and nylabones available to play with and chew on.

Delaney is up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention, and she is spayed. If you are interested in adopting her please fill out an application. Her adoption fee is $175.
