In Loving Memory

Hello everyone, my name is Faith and I am a 5 year old, female Maltese who weighs around 7 pounds. I recently came into rescue from a place where I didn't get much attention. My sole pupose in life was to reproduce puppies, and because of that I didn't get to spend very much time interacting with people and never had the opportunity to play or just be a pet.

In my foster home things have been progressing well. My foster family is so surprised at how much I enjoy the attention of humans. I love being held and petted and of course lots, and lots of belly rubs. My favorite things are treats, my new bed, great food, and most of all the attention you get from the other small dogs and my foster family. I am working on my housetraining but it is definitely a work in progress- I enjoy going outside but I haven't figured out how to tell you I need to potty. Because of that reason my foster family has been using a doggie diaper to help with the process.. I have been trying to do things like the other dogs especially the activity called playing, but I haven't quite figured out what all of that running is about. Since I was kept in a small space for such a long time I am not sure how to run, but I am sure I will figure it out. I mostly just walk quickly from one place to another.

I have not spent any time in a crate since I came into rescue, but I sometimes like to go sit in a crate on my own because the ones in my foster home have a cozy blanket and a bed and I am sometimes more comfortable in that space. When my foster mom has to go to work or run errands I will gladly stay in a gated off area until she returns. I also love to lie on the couch, cuddle, and watch TV. If you will let me sleep in the bed with you at night that would be an added bonus, I can sleep through the night without a peep or accident.

As with all SBRET dogs I am current on all of my shots, have been spayed, and am up to date on my heartworm preventive. I did have a dental to clean up my poor neglected teeth and unfortunately I lost 5 of my teeth, but eating hard kibble is not a problem. I would prefer a forever home that has someone home most of the day to work with me and help me continue to adjust to living in a house. Other small dogs would be a plus, but I have not spent any time around small children. They would most likely be too scary for a passive girl like me. So only children in the home over 12 please and a fenced in yard would be wonderful too!

If you think you have room in your heart and home, please contact SBRET after reading my bio if you think I just might be the right fit for you. My adoption fee is $175.
