Garage Sale!

Charity/Garage Sale

(April 2, 2011)

Everyone at SBRET wants to extend our heartfelt and most enthusiastic thanks to all who made our  Charity/Garage sale  such a resounding success! We received wonderful donations such as lovely antique furniture, exercise equipement, and tools and not to mention all the thousands of smaller items. Car loads and truck loads kept coming in on Friday and it took lots of SBRET workers many, many hours to price and sort. The sale was held in Lenoir City on  Saturday, April 2, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Highland Park Ruritan Building  and the community came out in force to shop and support. We even had folks stop in and make donations without purchasing anything and folks who stopped in to bring food to us! Also, a big thanks to the News Herald in Loudon County, the Shopper News in Knoxville, and to Anthony Welsh and WBIR-TV for all the wonderful promotions about the sale as well as their efforts to raise awareness about the horrors of puppymills. The money we raised will help care for dozens of homeless small dogs until they can find their forever family. Any unsold items donated to SBRET were picked up by the wonderful folks at Monroe County Animal Shelter to be used for their annual fundraising sale.
