Hello, my name is Hattie. I am a female Chihuahua and I'm about 10 years old. My foster mom wants to tell you how sweet and special I am 💗...

Hattie is the best! She loves to go on walks or just hang out next to me when I can relax on the sofa. She rides well in the car and has already been on a few trips with me. She is happy to go as long as she is with me. Hattie enjoys her foster dad and has done well meeting new people. She will bark when they come in the house but settles down quickly. She enjoys napping with other dogs and running with them in the yard but doesn't play with them. She does love to play with her toys though. Hattie sleeps under the covers with me at night. She cannot be crated, ever, because she gets stressed to the point of hurting herself. Luckily, she is house-trained and can be left loose in the house when home alone. She does get anxious about being alone and will need another dog to keep her company while her people are gone. Hattie has an eye condition called Endothelial Degeneration. It is age-related and has caused extreme cloudiness in her left eye. She will need an over-the-counter eye ointment administered twice a day for the rest of her life. She tolerates it well. Hattie will also need to have a follow-up vet visit at UT in 3-6 months. She has a dental in April and will be ready to go to her forever home after that.

Hattie is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she is spayed. Her ideal home will have someone home at least part of the day and another gentle dog to keep her company. If that sounds like you please fill out an application to adopt her. Hattie's adoption fee is $100.
