Hi there! My name is Hazel. I’m a super sweet 9.5-pound, 7 to 9-year-old female Chihuahua mix. I may be a little older but I still have some sass in me! I like to play tug and I enjoy being brushed. I love laying out in the sun. I follow my foster people everywhere they go. I’m not so much a lap dog, but I love being in my bed on the floor right next to you. I seem to be house-trained in my foster home and walk well on a leash. The only accidents I have had in the house were the couple of times I out-waited my foster mom because the grass was wet and I didn’t want to get my dainty feet wet. She caught onto that pretty quickly though. When I came into foster care, I had a skin issue and had a lot of hair missing, but as you can see, it’s coming back quite nicely and I’m looking more like the princess I’m supposed to be. I sleep quietly at night in an indoor expen but am transitioning into a crate. I sleep through the night with no issues. Morning comes a little too early for me in my foster home and it takes me a few minutes to wake up and start the day. I love whichever doggie bed I am in and will sometimes guard it from other critters when they try to join me. For the most part, I’m a very easy-going little lady though. I get along well with other dogs and I don’t bother the kitty in my foster home. I have an ocular dermoid (skin-like tissue on the outer layer of the eye that grows hair) on my right eye that does not bother me at all and it is not noticeable unless you look very closely. I am up to date on all my shots as well as flea and heartworm prevention. I will be having my cherry-eyes fixed and will be spayed on July 22nd. Once I’m all healed up from that, I’ll be ready for my furever home! My adoption fee is $100.
