Meet Hazel! This sweet furbaby has been in rescue since March recuperating from a very large hernia repair and mammary tumor removal and is ready to meet her furever family. Miss Hazel is a young 10-year-old female Chihuahua mix weighing in at a petite 9 pounds. Her vision is dim due to cataracts but once she learns her territory there's no holding her back. She thrives on loving her human and prefers to be at your side lounging on the couch. Hazel does fine with other dogs but does not require a dog buddy in her forever home and she is indifferent toward cats. The ideal home for her would have an enclosed patio area so that she can get her tan on, a human home part of the day and less stairs to navigate the better. Her potty skills are on point and sleeps in her dog bed at night quiet as a mouse. Hazel rides well in the car and would be fine with gentle children over eight years old.
Since she had mammary tumors removed, she will need to be monitored for any new lumps on her belly but since she has now been spayed it should not be a problem. It will be something for your vet to keep check on.
Hazel is current on her vaccines, heartworm and flea prevention, microchipped and spayed and recently had a dental. Are you ready to meet this beauty? If so submit an application and let's talk. Hazel’s adoption fee is $100.
