In Search of: 2-year old, 8-pound female Dachshund mix named Jillian! Hey, that would be me! I found myself at an area shelter and luckily for me, I ended up with the nice people from Small Breed Rescue and I am now searching for a new and loving home. I have lots of love to share. According to my foster mom, I am a very sweet and loving girl. I am mostly housetrained although I have an occasional accident – this is mostly due to timing on the part of my foster mom or due to the fact that I do not like to walk on the wet grass. I travel well in the car, either in a crate or in a dog car seat. I will stay in a crate without an issue and I often sleep in a crate beside my foster mom's bed but sometimes she lets me sleep with her. I burrow under the covers and you do not hear a peep out of me. I also love to sit with you, on your lap or otherwise.

I would do well with another small dog to play with but this is not a requirement. I try to play with the small dogs in my foster home but they are old and grumpy and will not have anything to do with me. Since I am so young I would enjoy an active home! Children over eight years old would be fine. There is a big dog here, younger than me, and I am beginning to learn to play with her. I have been spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines and heartworm/flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175.

As you search for a new partner in your life, please keep me in mind - Love, Jillian!
