Meet Max! Max is a 9-year-old, male Yorkie/Poodle mix.
He weighs about 12 pounds and could gain a pound or two.
Max was an owner-surrender to a shelter. He was in serious need of a grooming and dental work but other than that he is a healthy boy. His teeth have been cleaned and some pulled so no more pain or smelly breath and he was groomed and looks so great and feels so soft. He will definitely need to be groomed regularly.
Max is a great dog! He is calm, loving, obedient and doing great with his housetraining. He knows some commands too! Max will do his business on a leash or in a fenced yard and will whine and pace if he has to go out. He loves loves loves going for walks, his tail wags the whole time. Max wants nothing more than to go on a walk then snuggle up on the couch with you while you pet him and pet him some more.
Max is crate-trained while you leave for a bit and he’s nice and quiet but at night he will whine in a crate so he sleeps in a dog bed in the bedroom nice and quietly. But in his ideal home he will be allowed to sleep in his owners bed. Max likes men and women equally and gets along fine with other dogs. Not sure about cats.
Max does not play with toys or other dogs.. yet, he might because he seems like he wants to but doesn’t really know how to. He eats his food slowly and likes to be left alone while doing so. He does beg a bit for people food but is quickly grasping the fact that he will not be getting any.
He is an overall quiet dog who might whine to get your attention every now and then but he’s not a barker. While being at the vet and groomer he got irritated and a bit snippy with people messing with his face so younger kids would not be a good idea. So Max will be best for an adult home or one with children over 12 years old. Max is a little unsettled during car rides but I believe if you take him more he will be fine. He does great out in public! Such a behaved little boy :)
The only ‘negative’ and I hesitate to use that word is Max will follow his human EVERYWHERE! He will not do his own thing, he will not lie down, he will be wherever you are. He is very needy in that aspect. Max is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, had dental done, and groomed. Max’s adoption fee is $100.
