My name is Nibble and I am just as cute as can be—all 3.9 pounds of me! I am a male Chihuahua around 11 years old. My foster mom needs me to tell you a bit about why I am "special." I have a condition called hydrocephalus which means I have fluid around my brain. I was born this way and my condition has stabilized. I am not in any pain and am as happy as can be. I do have an awkward, high-stepping gait and am a little clumsy and have an open fontanel. None of these things bother me one bit--I just am who I am! I was previously adopted from SBRET in 2013 and have lived with the same mom since then. Unfortunately, she has recently passed away and I am now with a new foster mom and dad.
I like to go outside when it is warm and sunny but do a very nice job of using my pee pad when indoors. I am responding more and more to the other dogs and my foster family and I am slowly learning my new routine. I love to cuddle with my foster parents. I slept in the big bed previously but I am currently sleeping in a cozy bed in an xpen and don’t make a sound all night, but I would love to sleep in the big bed with you. I do seem to sleep quite a bit and sleep fairly soundly when I do sleep. I am not a big barker--usually only when startled and may sometimes cry out if scared or lonely.
My home needs to be an adult home and if there are dogs they need to be about my size and not too rowdy--although I get a bit silly and playful and will run and chase one of the Chihuahuas in my foster home when she decides she will play with me. It is not safe for me to be around stairs since I am too awkward to navigate them safely. I will not walk on hardwood floors or any slick surfaces as my back legs are a bit wonky which makes me scared. My foster parents have put down rug runners around the house so I get around just fine. Carpet is fine also.
I sure hope my super, super equally "special" family finds me soon so I can get settled into my forever routine and home. Please be sure you understand my condition or contact SBRET to discuss. My adoption fee is $100.
