I am a dog rescued from a puppy mill where I received no medical care or socialization and was used for breeding purposes. Before you fall in love with my adorable face, please remember that I will have some specific needs in my forever home. I need a secure fenced yard, someone with lots of patience and time during the day to help me with my housetraining and socialization, an adult dog-experienced home, and another small dog buddy to help show me the ropes. Thank you for reading!

PomPom is a puppy mill survivor. She is a female Pomeranian, weighs 6 pounds and is around 2 years old. Did you ever wonder what happens after all those puppy mill dogs are rescued? It is the rehabilitation of a dog that does not know how to be a "dog" - afraid of human contact, loud noises, and has never felt grass beneath their feet. They do not know how to come when called or sit or stay. They will not seek you out for companionship as they don't know (yet) that is a good thing. They take patience, time and lots of love.

PomPom has come a long way in just a few short months, but she still has miles to go. She will sit with you on the couch. She will go outside to do her business, she will sleep quietly all night. But, she still needs time to get through the rest of the hurdles. She must have a secure fenced yard as she is a flight risk. She would do better with another small dog in the house to help her learn all about the household. She trails a leash always both inside and outside in order to easily touch her or pick her up. PomPom will not be a good dog for a first time dog owner and she will need an adult only home where someone is there a good portion of the day to continue her rehabilitation. She does enjoy her food, so that can be a source of positive reinforcement. She has had all her shots and has been spayed and is on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $175.
