With your continued support, we were able to place the following dogs from the Roane County puppy mill bust in wonderful homes and give them a second chance in life to be loved and appreciated as all dogs should be: Georgia, George, Gracie, Minnow, Twig, Remy, Hershey, Freddy, Maura's babies (Duncan and Keelin), Marlo's babies (Biscotti, Lorna and Newton), Maeve, Charity, Frosty, Joy, Kris, Sushi, Ovive, Cocoa Puff, and Coffee. Almost 30 dogs were removed from a Roane County Puppymill on November 4th, and on November 5th SBRET went to the Roane County Shelter to bathe, groome, and treat parasites for all of the dogs. We took 13 dogs with us to care for while awaiting a December 14 court date. During that time we vaccinated the dogs, screened for heartworms, and started working on socialization and housetraining. Their fate was still unclear. On December 14th we went to court and were delighted to learn that those dogs along with the remaining dogs on the property were being signed over by the owner. We could now begin spaying and neutering and taking care of other medical needs of the first 13 dogs in our care. We went back to the shelter on the afternoon of December 14th and bathed, groomed, and treated for parasites the 21 dogs brought in on that day. We took in another 10 dogs into our rescue. Unfortunately there are still about 50-60 dogs that were on the property on November 4 that are unaccounted for and we are hopeful that they will be located and that we will be able to help those too.
Little Paws Rescue of Kingston and Roane County Humane Society have also taken some of the dogs into
their care and helped us bathe and groom the dogs as they were brought into the shelter. These are
just a few pictures of the dogs' initial care.
See the notes below each dog's picture for his/her adoption status. A linked name goes to an individual rescue page with more info and pictures. A few of the dogs listed below are not yet available for adoption while others are already adopted or have pending adoptions.
