Hi everyone, my name is Sally – I am a 9-pound, 5-year-old sweet, petite female Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. I have the sweetest soft brown eyes. I am a bit shy and reserved so it takes a little while for me to snuggle up to you. My foster mom thinks I was very isolated from the rest of the world before I came to SBRET. I have no interest in toys or other dogs (I just watch them). I am working on understanding that life is not so scary. My house training skills are the best as long as you take me out about every 4 hours (I don’t like the wet grass so you will need to be a little patient when it rains). I’m really quiet except I will sometimes whine (I’m not hurt -it’s just my way of letting my humans know I don’t like or know what is happening). I sleep all night in my crate without a sound snuggled in my bed usually under my blanket.

My legs are very short so I would need to be picked up so I can sit with you. I can climb a couple of stairs but it takes me a little while. They tell me I need to continue to lose weight, so I would need your help with that. My foster mom thinks when I lose more weight I’ll be better at climbing stairs. I walk slowly, so I’m fine on a leash. I ride well in the car. I would probably do best in a less active home either as the only dog or with another dog that is laid back like me. I’m probably best suited with children over 12 years old.

I have a dental scheduled (they are removing baby teeth) and at the same time I will be microchipped. I’m spayed, current on my vaccines, heartworm and flea preventive. I will be ready for adoption soon. My adoption fee is $175.
