Hello, Sam here - maybe you can help me find my forever home. I am a cute white and tan fluffy male Shih Tzu, 11 years young and full of energy (for my age that is).
I weigh a little over 14 pounds and I have to loose a couple pounds now that the holidays have passed.
My foster mom tells me if I eat a little less and cut out the treats I’ll be at a good weight in no time flat.
I came to SBRET when my owner could no longer care for me. The family member that brought me to SBRET said
I am good with older gentle kids and cats – my foster mom doesn’t know that for sure because there are no kids or cats in my foster home, just 4 small dogs that I get along well with – I kind of just do my own thing, so I would also be happy as the only dog.
I’m a pretty quiet guy as long as I’m not confined in a crate or gated. I will make all kinds of racket until you let me out, the good thing is I don’t make a mess. I’m very good about going outside to potty as long as someone takes me out on a regular basis. I walk very well on a leash. If you have a fenced yard that would be great but if not I’ll do just fine as long as you keep me on a leash so I don’t run off. I don’t jump on furniture - you would need to put me up or down on the sofa or chair when you want me to be with you. I really enjoy lying on the floor or rolling around with my favorite blanket, my foster mom thinks it’s cute when I do that. My foster mom puts me in a crate (to keep me safe) when she has to take me someplace in the car I fuss most of the ride - hopefully I’ll get better with that.
I’m up to date on my vaccines and flea and heartworm preventive. Also I had a dental and am neutered and microchipped. My adoption fee is $100. If you would like to add me to your family go to sbret.com to fill out an application and ask for Sam. Hope to meet you soon.
