Hello there... my name is Willow. I am a 9-pound, 6-year old female Chihuahua mix. I was surrendered at a local shelter but lucky for me the kind ladies of SBRET noticed me, saw how sweet I am, and decided to help me find a new home. My foster mom says the SBRET ladies have good instincts because I really turned out to be the sweetest dog ever. My foster dad thinks that I look so grateful and happy to be in a warm home instead of the cold cage at the shelter!
When I first came to my foster home, I was a bit scared and did not want to go potty in the backyard. But now that I have settled in, I have been very good about doing my business outside but it would help if my future family has flexible hours during the day so that my house training skills can be reinforced. My foster mom took me for a walk and was quite pleased to find that I was a very good leash walker. During the day, my favorite spot is on my foster mom's lap as she works at her desk, but at night I sleep quietly in a crate next to her bed. I get along well with the big dogs here but my foster mom noticed that I settled in more quickly when another little rescue dog came to our foster home, so it might help if I had a small doggie friend at my new home. I have never been around small children but given my size, an adult home or one with children over 8 years old would be best.
If you think I am the perfect little dog for you, please fill out an online application or ask to meet me at an SBRET adoption event. I have been spayed, had a dental cleaning, and am current on vaccines and heartworm and flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175.
