Puppies less than 16 weeks old cannot be placed in apartment complexes as they cannot go out in communal areas until about 10 days after their last vaccine at 16 weeks.
Nemy needs:
- A high energy home where everyone is steady on their feet
- Someone home most of the day to keep an eye on me and continue my potty training
- No apartments or condos because of my loud puppy bark and I am not fully vaccinated
- No children under the age of eight
Hi everyone, I’m a 6 lb, 10 week old Chihuahua mix girl named Nemy! (Yep, if you adopt me you can change my name 😆) Look into my big, beautiful green eyes and fall in love forever! I am a sweet, funny, healthy, high energy, playful little girl. And spicy! So spicy! Sometimes I think my name is “Don’t” because my foster mom is always saying “don’t eat that, don’t potty there, don’t chew on that!” But I have to because I’m a puppy and that’s my job! She doesn’t get mad though because she knows I’m only going to be a puppy for a minute and then I’ll be all grown up and she’s going to wish I was little again. So she scoops me up and gives me kisses all over my whole face and boy do I love that and I give her kisses right back!
My siblings and I (there are five of us so keep an eye out for them!) were lucky enough to come into rescue with our mom, so we’ve had the benefit of never being homeless or out on the streets. We had a great mom; I’ve put her picture here so you can see how beautiful she is. We miss her but it’s time for us to find our own homes.
I’m doing pretty good on my outdoor potty training. I sleep in a playpen and use potty pads if I have to potty at night. I will potty outside, and my foster mom makes sure to take me many, many times a day, and I’m starting to figure that out, but I still have plenty of accidents in the house so training is a work in progress. When foster mom leaves the house, I stay in the playpen so I don’t get into trouble. She says if she leaves me alone in the house she’s afraid I’ll order stuff online and watch R- rated movies, so right now it’s not a good idea to let me run around your house when you’re not there. There is a crate in the playpen that I go in and out of, but I haven’t been officially crated and confined yet so if that’s your plan you’ll have to explain all that to me. Since I can’t go on walks yet, leash / harness training will be new for me too. I’m a good little eater with a full set of needle sharp puppy teeth and I love my dry kibble so no problem there. Speaking of sharp puppy teeth, like most puppies I’m a bitey little thing and won’t lose those puppy teeth until I’m about 4 months old so get ready for that!
I really am just a sweet little girl with all the fun, and sometimes frustration, that comes with owning a puppy. I want you to remember that I’m going to live a very long life, so you need to be able to hang with me for the long run. If your idea of good time is hanging out on the couch (like my foster mom) I probably would not be a good fit for you. I need somebody who can match my energy level! And since I am so tiny and have such sharp teeth, and don’t know not to run out the door, it wouldn’t be safe to have small children in the house either. One of us has to be the adult here! I’m not a constant barker, but I do have a voice and I am not afraid to use it, so if you live in an apartment do your neighbors a favor and take a pass on me.
Whew, that sounds like a lot, but owning a puppy is a lot! If you have the time, energy, money (because foster mom says no one ever talks about this but dogs are expensive!) and patience to take care of my adorable little self for the next oh I don’t know 15 years or so, I promise I will reward you with that many years of love, laughter, and all the sloppy puppy kisses you can handle❤️
I’m up to date on my puppy vaccines, but will need my next set at 12 weeks, and then my final set and rabies at about 16 weeks. Until then I can’t go out in public or run around at the park or walk around the neighborhood. I just don’t have the immunity to fight anything off yet so keep me home and keep me safe! I will be spayed and microchipped next week.
You can find my application at SBRET.com and my adoption fee is $175. Puppy power woohoo!!
