- Regular brushing and occasional grooming
Lulu is a female Terrier mix, is between 1-2 years old, and weighs 17.6 pounds. Her fur is wispy and long, and her legs are long, too! She loves to run and stretch her legs.
Lulu very active. She loves to chase her ball and is especially proud of herself when she catches it. After prancing around for a bit, she brings the ball back and drops it, ready to go again. Her foster family makes sure she gets some ball-chasing time several times a day. She also likes to play with her stuffed toys, which should be indestructible. If everyone in the family is busy and can’t play, she is content to play by herself for a while or take a nap until someone is free.
She is friendly with and likes other dogs. Lulu would do well in a home with another dog that would accept her and want to play with her. She is also OK in a home with another dog that is friendly but does not want to play very much. She loves to chase squirrels, therefore she probably would not be good in a home with a cat that runs from her.
Lulu is housebroken. If she is able to get out by herself using a doggy door and the weather is nice, she likes to run around the yard and will use the bathroom. She also likes to go out to potty (supervised) before bedtime and when she first wakes up. She sleeps in a crate in her foster parents’ bedroom but would love to sleep on your couch or at the foot of your bed. Lulu is OK in her crate for up to 3-4 hoursat a time occasionally during the day. She also rides in the car inside her crate and is quiet.
She is learning to walk on a leash without pulling and is making great progress. We don’t think she ever walked on a leash before coming into rescue, but she is smart and is learning quickly.
Lulu barks at people she does not know who approach her, even when outside her home. After correction and a proper introduction, she is sweet and wants them to pet her. She definitely barks when someone comes to her house. She also barks sometimes when she is happy and wants some attention (as in “throw the ball, please”).
Lulu will require frequent brushing and occasional grooming. She is a very loving and sweet dog and will be an excellent family pet! Lulu is spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $175.
