Puppies less than 16 weeks old cannot be placed in apartment complexes as they cannot go out in communal areas until about 10 days after their last vaccine at 16 weeks.
Tater needs:
- Active adult home and if children they need to be at least 5 years old
- Someone home to keep working on my housetraining
- No apartments as I’m not fully vaccinated
Hey there – my name is Tater. I am a Male Chihuahua mix 11 weeks old and 6.4 pounds as of February 13th born on Thanksgiving Day and my nine siblings and I each got a festive name taken from the Thanksgiving menu. I will be neutered and microchipped on February 5th. After that, I will be ready to go home with my furever family.
I have a tan fur coat and my face looks a little like a boxer’s with black markings and a broad, short snout. My most precious feature is the little wrinkles on my forehead that, along with my inquisitive eyes, give me a more mature and debonair expression. I also curl my tail over my back which I think adds to my “cute” factor. I have a mighty bark, and I am both feisty and mischievous by nature. My favorite game is to “steal” the puppy teething rings from my siblings to add to my personal collection. My foster mom lovingly nicknamed me Squiggly Diggly, because when she picks me up, I wag not just my tail but my entire body so you need to hold me tight to ensure I don’t fall or get away.
I used to be the first to climb into bed for a nap but now I am the last one. Even though I get tired playing hard, I cannot resist creating mischief by pouncing on my brother and sister as they fall asleep. My foster mom has been taking me outside to potty even in the cold weather. If I can’t get outside, I will use pee pads. I am working hard on doing all my pottying outside though! My foster mom recommends the washable kind since shredding the disposable ones is quite fun. There are two dogs and a cat in my foster home and I get along really well with all of them. It would be great to have a young, friendly dog buddy in my forever home — someone who can keep up with my puppy energy. When I get tired, I go to sleep in a crate with two of my siblings. Once adopted, I will need to learn to be comfortable sleeping alone in the crate so bear with me if I cry a little at first. I take naps throughout the day and sleep through the night. I need to go potty as soon as I wake up and also after I eat.
🌟 A Few Things About Me
• Even though I am doing great with house training for my age, like all puppies, I occasionally have accidents. I’ll need my new family to be understanding and keep helping me learn.
• A fenced yard would be great because I haven’t learned how to walk on a leash yet — and trust me, I may be young but I can move surprisingly fast!
• I have started wearing my collar and I was also cooperative about dressing in a hooded sweatshirt. Who knows maybe one day I will star in the puppy version of a James Bond movie because I am so handsome and suave when I turn on my charm!
I will be neutered and microchipped and am current on age-appropriate vaccines. My adoption fee is $175.
