Teagan needs:
- An adult home or one with children over 12 who is home a lot during the day
- Someone who will brush me several times a week and provide occasional professional grooming
- Keep me on my special prescription diet and on my thyroid medication
Meet Teagan! Teagan is a charming, 11-year-old, 11-1/2 pound male Pomeranian mix looking for his forever home. Teagan is just a little fluff ball and his foster mom lovingly calls him Teddy Bear sometimes instead of Teagan. His previous family was unable to care for him, and so he did find himself in rescue. He needed a bit of TLC.
Teagan had learned some bad habits in his former home and is still learning the ropes when it comes to outdoor potty training and eating routines. Teagan wears a belly band in the house when he is out and about in case he has an accident. He recently had bladder stone surgery and needs to be on a special urinary prescription food diet. He also takes an inexpensive medicine twice daily to maintain healthy thyroid levels. He does best having his anal glands expressed monthly. Teagan is such a gentle soul who loves attention, and he says he is worth the bit of extra attention he needs to keep him healthy!
He loves to be near his person but doesn’t need to be on you lap–whether you’re working, relaxing on the couch, just moving from room to room, or driving in the car he will be your buddy. Teagan loves road trips! He can be shy when he meets new people, new animals, or hears loud noises—he likes his crate and sleeps in it every night but is always eager to see you in the morning! Teagan gets along well with other dogs and cats, but he can be protective of his proximity to you but is easily correctable. Teagan would do well in an apartment, but a home with a fenced yard can be helpful in continuing his outdoor potty training plus he loves to go for walks around the yard! He is just a wonderful boy who needs a little extra love and consistency to truly shine. Teagan is current on his vaccines and heartworm prevention, neutered, and had a dental. His adoption fee is $100.
