Bogart needs: Could "this be the beginning of a beautiful friendship"? Bogart is an easy going 10-yr-old Shih Tzu and weighs about 12 lbs. He would love a home where he can hang out on the sofa and watch the classics like Casablanca and African Queen. Since he is mostly deaf, he prefers Silent Films but is okay with having closed captions turned on for the Talkies. Bogart Thanks His Lucky Stars that Small Breed Rescue got him from the shelter. His previous owner neglected him terribly and he looked like a creature on a Dead End street. He got a movie star worthy make-over, his teeth cleaned and a benign growth removed after coming into rescue and is now ready for his debut in his new role as your leading Shih Tzu. Bogart is used to having an entourage around and is fine sharing his space with other dogs (and cats) but can be a little aloof and doesn't really interact with them much. That doesn't mean he wants to be In A Lonely Place though! Bogart loves to have his humans nearby and will use his voice to inform the neighborhood if they are missing! He prefers the star treatment and would like to sleep in bed but he will also settle in the kitchen or his crate All Through The Night if he must. He is still working on house training and needs an owner who is patient with him as he learns. Bogart is a bit stiff in his back legs so he's not keen on walking a red carpet anymore but he is happy to explore a fenced yard. He also has a slight collapsing trachea that causes him to cough sometimes. It is mainly noticable first thing in the morning when he rises or when he is being carried.

Bogart is fully vetted and heartworm negative and ready for his new home. His adoption fee is $100. If you think he could be your Treasure Of The Sierra Madre please fill out an application.
