Someone who is home part of the day because I am very attached to my people.
Someone who will follow the vet’s guidelines for my special diet and medicine for early stage of kidney failure
Someone who has as much love to give as I do.
Hi, My name is Bonnie. I am a 9-year-old, 14-pound female Chihuahua mix. I came into rescue when my owner could no longer care for me. I am a very sweet girl and my favorite thing to do is cuddle. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy or lap dog, we will be best friends. I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home, but I would also be okay as an only dog. I do get a little possessive of my foster mom's lap and she is teaching me that there is plenty of room for all of us to cuddle together.
When I came into rescue, the vet found that I was in the beginning stages of renal failure. I will have to eat special food and take medicine for the rest of my life. My foster mom says that I don’t really act like I feel bad, but I do like to relax. So if you choose to bring me into your family, I may not be with you for very long, or I may have years left. The vet does not know how quickly my disease will progress.
I am a very laid back girl, but I do have my feisty moments where I like to talk. This usually happens about once a day where I have to tell my foster mom a story. I like to be close to her all the time, so I do not sleep in a crate. I cuddle up beside her and stay there quietly until she gets up. I follow her around during the day wherever she goes in the house. She leaves me out inside the house when she needs to leave, and I just sit in my favorite chair until she gets home. I just really like my person and want to spend all the time I have with them.
I have a lot of love to give if you would be willing to take a chance on me. I am up to date on all my shots, spayed, microchipped and I am on heartworm and fleav preventative. My adoption fee is $100.
