Jimmy needs: Hello, my name is Jimmy. I’m a handsome, happy and very loving 10-year-old, 9-pound Maltese-Yorkie mix boy with a heart as good as gold.

I am looking for a forever home that is willing to love me as a member of the family and not as just the pet. I respond better if I am treated like I belong and am wanted. Remember that my potty-training is an on-going project. I need to go out frequently to reduce the number of mistakes that I make so someone at home most of the day is really important. The good news is that I’m getting better and better at doing my business with the other dogs outside on my own schedule. Problem is sometimes I am not sure how to let you know what my schedule might be from day to day. It takes me a bit of time to decide to get all my business done outside so if you have a tight schedule and don’t have time for me to do my business, you should probably pick a different dog. A secure fenced area is a must. My foster home has a great backyard with a great fence. That’s how I know I am sure that a fenced area is a must. A fenced area allows me to use up some energy in a safe place and to do my business. I really like to go for a walk, but I tend to squirt out a door when you open it, so until I learn your routine, you would need to have me on a leash before you open your doors.

I do like to bark, but my foster mom is teaching me to HUSH and does not reward me at all for barking.

I do have a problem with pet toys…… (squeaky pet toys) …I LOVE THEM! Good news is you won’t have to listen to me making them squeak for very long. Bad news is I always tear the toy apart because my job is to remove all the squeakers out of every toy I can. Yes, it makes a big mess, but my foster parents always show up just in time to clean it up.

I get along great with other dogs in my current foster home. We play and sleep, eat and bark at everything. I haven’t met a dog that I didn’t like but I haven’t been out around a lot of other dogs so please be understanding if I need time to adapt to your home.

The vet says I’m in great health, and I’ve been neutered, had all my vaccinations, heartworm-negative, microchipped, dewormed, and had flea and heartworm prevention…you will need to continue vaccinations and flea/heartworm prevention if you decide to be my furever home. My foster mom says I’m a bargain for $100 since I promise to give you lots of love and fun!

I approve this message.
