Meet Marilyn, a charming 3-year-old female Yorkshire Terrier who is ready to find her forever home. Weighing in around 7 pounds, this sweet little girl was in the shelter and had clearly been neglected which left her in rough shape. She had a severe skin infection which required several weeks of rigorous treatment, but her skin has healed and she is growing a beautiful coat. Marilyn is such a love, she soaks up attention, takes any opportunity to cuddle and gets so happy when being praised.
Marilyn is not only adorable but also incredibly well-behaved. She rides well in the car, is leash trained, crate trained, and house trained. She has quickly adapted to her time in rescue, showcasing her intelligence and eagerness to learn. This sweet girl is also a champion when it comes to grooming! While she may require some regular maintenance, including weekly baths to keep her skin healthy, she’s become a pro at bath time and enjoys the pampering. Marilyn does well with other dogs, though her excitement can sometimes lead her to playfully nip at their faces — an endearing quirk of hers.
Marilyn had severe luxating patellas (knees), common in small dogs, that were surgically repaired while in rescue. She is healing wonderfully and has been a trooper through two months of strict rest, such a resilient little girl. It's important to note that she should never be allowed to jump on or off furniture, from cars, high steps, etc, but she happily uses pet steps.
Marilyn is a bundle of joy waiting to brighten your life. If you're looking for a loving companion who’s overcome a rough start and is ready to share a lifetime of cuddles, Marilyn could be the perfect addition to your family. Don't miss the chance to welcome this little sweetheart into your home! She recently had a dental cleaning, vaccinations and heartworm test updated and is current on preventives. Her adoption fee is $175.
