Pip's Needs: My name is Pip, I am a 10-month-old female Dachshund. My foster family says that I am the sweetest girl. I love to play with small stuffies. I love nothing more than to snuggle up with you in your lap. I love attention and am so cute, I am sure I will take all of yours. I am very vocal when I hear noises or meet new people so an apartment would not be a good fit. I don’t like to share my food, so if I have a brother or sister, please separate us so I can eat my food peacefully. I love to eat, so keeping me on a strict diet will be important. I am great at going outside to potty. I love taking short walks on a leash and harness. I do wonderful in my bed in a small gated room or in my kennel overnight.

I would be great as an only dog or with a calm senior fur-sibling. I don’t do well with an excited puppy. I do not shed much, so no professional grooming is necessary. You can take me with you on trips too! I love traveling in the car. I have a heart murmur and the echocardiogram revealed it is a common mitral valve problem found in small dogs. I do not require any medication and the progression of any issues should be very slow so that I should have a nice long life. It will need to be monitored by your vet at my annual exam. I have no exercise restrictions. I am microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, spayed and current on flea and heartworm prevention.
