Hi, my name is Joplin. I am a female blue merle Pomeranian with half blue eyes. I am about two and a half years old, tiny at 4.5 pounds, and I am a puppy mill survivor. Until a few weeks ago, I lived in a small cage with other dogs. We had lots of fleas, no medical care, and we lived in our own filth. Our job was to produce puppies. One day some kind ladies came and took me and some of my friends away from there. We were cleaned up, vaccinated, spayed, tested for heartworms and even had our teeth cleaned! We have gone to live in houses with kind families called foster homes where it is clean. We are learning to go outside to use the bathroom, we get to sit on their laps and get lots of attention, and we are learning to be pets. We never dreamed that life could be so good! These families tell us we will find homes where we will have a family of our own.
My forever home needs to have a secure fenced yard, another small dog buddy to help show me the ropes, and no children under 12 years old. I will do best with someone who has some flexibility during the day and previous experience with dog ownership as I still have a journey ahead of me to keep learning to be a companion and not a commodity.
If you think you would like to take this journey with me, please contact my friends at SBRET or complete an online adoption application. I am spayed, microchipped, and am up to date on vaccines, heartworm and flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175.
