My name is Oreo and I am a 2 year old, 4 pound male Chihuahua. I came to Small
Breed from a local shelter after being turned in to them with severe injuries from being placed in
a pen with 2 large dogs who decided to use me as a play toy. I ended up with puncture wounds all
over my body and a front leg that was dislocated at the shoulder. I was in a sling for a month
and then on crate rest for another month.
The orthopedic surgeon said at this point there is nothing they can do for me and I should be
allowed to play like a normal dog. The only bad thing is at some point the muscle in my shoulder
will most likely tear and I will lose my leg. Therefore I need a home where someone is willing
to go through having a dog that may be an amputee. Should this happen, I am still young and should
be able to recover and walk on three legs with no problem.
If I am in a home with no other dogs the leg may last longer as I tend to be a lap dog when
there are no other furry friends around. However I do love to play and another small dog would
be fine. I am a happy boy but just a bit shy with strangers. I am still working on housetraining.
No kids for me due to my tiny size so an adult home would be best.
Come see me at the next event and you are sure to fall in love….my foster parents have already!
My adoption fee is $175.
