Piper’s Requirements:
– Active adult home or one with kids over 8
– Someone home part of the day to work on housetraining
Hi! My name is Piper and I’m a female Pug about 2-1/2 years old and 20 pounds. I am working on losing a couple pounds! I get along with all the dogs (of all sizes) in my foster home and I don’t really care about the cat. I also met a chicken and I was surprised when she squawked and ran away because I wasn’t trying to chase her. I love children over 8 years old and I haven’t met a stranger yet. I love getting on the back of the couch or chairs so I can see everything that’s happening.
When I’m feeling playful I do zoomies and sometimes I like to do zoomies with a toy in my mouth. Foster mom says I’m a goofball that keeps her entertained. I do get excited sometimes and like to “mouth” hands but I’m working on controlling myself. I like to snuggle under the covers at night with my people and I’m no trouble because I sleep all night. I walk well on a leash and I’m a good car rider. My foster mom is helping me to remember that I need to go potty outside but sometimes I do forget, especially when I’m excited. I will be best with a secure fenced yard or a way to make sure I don’t run out an open door as I came to rescue with a history of wanting to sneak out a door and take off — that is not safe!
I was also itchy when I came to my foster mom and have received an injection for that. This may be something that will require continued monitoring in my forever home. It will be best if someone is home at least part of the day to help me get my house training down just right!
If you are not familiar with my breed, we do shed a lot and we can be sensitive to extreme temperatures due to our short muzzle. We tend to snore and put on weight which is not healthy for us! We also are fun little clowns that think life is amazing!
If you are interested in adopting Piper, please submit an online application which can be found at sbret.com. My adoption fee is $175.
