Handsome Ricco is ready for a forever home. Don’t you just love my pretty coloring? I am a male 8-year-old, 16-pound, maybe a Terrier/Poodle mix but don’t hold my foster mom to those breed guesses. I had to be shaved down due to bad itchy skin issues and also had a really bad injured/infected ear when I came to SBRET. I had surgery on my ear and medicated baths and a Cytapoint injection (allergy shot) for my skin. My ear and skin are doing great now! There is a chance I might need another Cytopoint injection at a future time but right now my skin is looking great!
I am a calm, sweet boy who wants a variety of toys I can choose from. I love playing pull toy or fetch-a-toy but I am basically pretty low key. If someone new comes along I will probably bark and will need to get a good sniff. I love wandering around a fenced yard. If you do not have a fence but love to go for walks then that might be OK also but I am not a couch potato! My foster mom keeps my crate with its cushy bed and blanket open all the time which is where I love to take my naps and sleep at night. I am house-trained in my foster home but you do need to do your job and get me outside to potty. I may have some accidents when I transition to a new home so please be patient with me.
I would like to cuddle beside you on the couch and help you watch TV or read. I am also very good on car rides.
My foster mom thinks I would do best in a calm adult home; I love being with my people and seek nice attention. I do not do well when people first come in the house and need a few minutes to settle. So I would not be a good choice for a very active home or one with children. I do have immature cataracts in both eyes but they are not causing any vision issues. This will be something you will want to monitor with your vet.
I have been neutered as well as being up to date on all my vaccines as well as monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. I also had a dental. My adoption fee will be $175.
