Alfie needs:

• Someone home much of the day since he gets anxious if left alone too long.
• A house (not apartment) since he barks when upset and prefers pottying in his yard. 
• ​A loving owner who enjoys being adored, walking and cuddling.
• If any children in the home should be over 12 years old

Say hello to friendly sweet little Alfie. He is a 6 year old, 12 pound male Maltese mix  and is ready to find his forever home. Alfie loves to be around his human and can be as active or snuggly as you want as long as he can be near you. He sleeps all night in his crate if it is in the room with his human. He does not like to be left at home alone and will bark, so he needs to have a home with a family where someone is home much of the day. He also would not adjust well to apartment living. 

Alfie does very well with his potty training. When he is taken to the yard, he knows the drill and will immediately take care of business. If he is taken out just before bedtime, he sleeps quietly in his crate all night. But he would love to snuggle in the human bed if that is permitted. He does well on a leash and likes to take walks in the neighborhood or explore the backyard. He gets along with the other dog in the home and does not bark at other dogs when on a leash. He does tend to be very focused on food, and his foster mom has to separate him from the other dog when eating. He will bark at strange sounds he hears to alert you something is there. 

Alfie has had a dental and is healthy and up to date on flea and heartworm medications and vaccinations. His bloodwork revealed a mildly abnormal thyroid level and he is currently on thyroid medication. Alfie had follow up bloodwork to confirm that he is on the appropriate level of the inexpensive thyroid medication.  Due to being recently diagnosed with low thyroid, Alfie does have thin hair along his back, but that should fill in as his thyroid levels become regulated.

Alfie is neutered, current on his vaccines and preventatives, microchipped, had a dental and is on medication for low thyroid. Alfie‘s adoption fee is $175.
