Zia

Puppies less than 16 weeks old cannot be placed in apartment complexes as they cannot go out in communal areas until about 10 days after their last vaccine at 16 weeks.

Ziz needs:

  • A home where someone is there most of the day to continue her potty training;
  • No children under the age of 12 years due to her small size;
  • Everyone in the home should be steady and sure-footed;
  • Someone with the energy and patience to raise a puppy for the long haul!

Hey everyone, meet Zia! Zia is a 3 lb. Chihuahua mix who is currently accepting applications for a full-time lap and a home of her very own.

At just 10 weeks old, she is already stealing hearts and showing off the spunky confidence that Chihuahuas are famous for. She is a sweet little girl who just wants to play until she’s all tuckered out, then given complete control of your lap and any soft fluffy blankets or pillows she has had her eye on.

Zia is a good little eater, she sleeps all night in a playpen with her brother and has been introduced to a small crate. Crate training, as well as potty training, is an ongoing process and is part of your job if you decide to adopt a puppy! She’s doing well with both but patience and consistency from you is key.

We don’t know who Zia’s dad is, but her mom is only 7 lbs., so chances are she’s going to be a small dog. She would do best in a home where her size is respected. She’s small but fearless and her new family should be mindful of her safety. Because of her size, children in her new home should be over the age of 12 years, all adults should be steady and sure-footed, and everyone should be prepared for the sharp teeth, energy and shenanigans of a puppy! Also, a reminder that small breeds like this have a long life expectancy – her foster sister is 15 years old – so make sure you are able to hang with her for the long run!

Zia is up to date on her vaccines, but you will still need to get her 12-week shots, 16-week shots, and rabies vaccination. She is spayed and microchipped.

So what do you say? If you think you can give Zia a happy home, she is ready to pack her tiny little bags and move in!

Applications can be found at SBRET.com. Her adoption fee is $175.
