Meet Cedar 💛

Hi there—I’m Cedar, a petite long-haired Chihuahua with a big heart packed into just 6½ pounds. I’m about 1–2 years old, with a gorgeous red coat and soft brown eyes that tend to do all the talking once I get to know you.

I’ve had quite the start to my story. I came into rescue in distress while in labor and needed an emergency C-section to save me and my puppy. It was a scary moment, but I’ve healed beautifully and I’m so ready to begin the next chapter of my life—with a family to call my own.

I’ll be honest: I can feel a little nervous in new situations. But give me a couple of days, some patience, and a gentle approach, and I’ll bond quickly and deeply with my people. Once I feel safe, my sweet and playful personality really shines through.

I’d do best in a calm home without large dogs or small children, as those can feel overwhelming to me. But a playful, tiny dog friend? That sounds perfect! I’d love a buddy to chase around the yard and then snuggle up with in a cozy bed when we’re all tuckered out. I don’t really like being alone so a small dog friend will help when you do have to leave as I will settle in and cuddle up with them.

I’m doing well with housetraining and would thrive with a private, fenced yard where I can feel secure. Busy or noisy environments can distract me a bit, but in the right setting, I’m a great little companion.

I love toys (seriously—give me a toy basket and I’ll happily keep myself entertained), and while I do enjoy lap time, I’m still young and full of playful energy. I’m definitely not just a couch potato—I’m the best of both worlds!

And here’s something special: Chihuahuas are known for their long lives, so I could be your loyal companion for 15 years or more. That’s a lot of love, laughter, and memories waiting to happen.

If you think we might be the perfect match, please visit SBRET.com and fill out an adoption application.

I’m spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. And if you see a shaved area on my back, no worries that hair will grow back as that was done at the time of my C-section for medication. My adoption fee is $175.

I can’t wait to meet you—your little Cedar 🌲
