Aggie

Adoption Area: East Tennessee

Aggie needs:

  • Adult household or one with children over 12
  • Someone home part of the day to continue house training
  • Regular grooming

I’m a 10 year old female Yorkie mix and I weigh in a little over 8 pounds. Before coming to SBRET my health and grooming had been neglected for quite some time. I needed a lot of cleaning up, and my dental cleaning resulted in my losing 14 teeth… I have two teeth left. I also had a few small cysts removed, but I am doing great now and haven’t missed a meal (I eat dry food with a bit of water added)! I am actually pretty spunky for my age and can walk, run and jump with no problem.

I’ve had to learn how to walk on a leash and am doing well. I am also relearning housetraining, which will require time, patience and a good routine with my new family. Sometimes when I am feeling unconfident or super excited, I will piddle on the floor. My foster mom is teaching me “Sit” so that I will calm down and collect myself before going outside or coming out of my crate. Speaking of crates, I don’t love being in one and may whimper a bit at first, but I do sleep quietly all night in a crate in my foster parents’ bedroom. When my foster mom needs to be gone for a while, I go in an indoor x-pen. But you better make it a sturdy one! I’ve been known to move an x-pen across the floor a bit in an effort to get out (did I mention I don’t love being contained?)

I ride well in the car (crated) and get along well with other dogs (cats unknown). I am not barky but do have a big voice for a little dog and will use it when I see “strangers,” hear weird noises or see delivery trucks. Never fear, Aggie is here to warn you of things out of the ordinary!

I’m not super playful, but I do like being outside; my ears even perk up when I hear the word “outside.” I’d be good for someone who likes to go for walks or maybe even a hike. Just make sure I’m securely attached to you, wearing a harness with my leash. I’m a pretty small pup and it’s a big, scary world out there if I were to get away from you.

I like naps during the day and especially love to be next to a human. If you’re on the couch, I’m right there with ya. In fact, if I can’t see you, I’ll probably come find you, just to see what you’re up to and to see if you have any extra pats or belly rubs to give me. I just like knowing you’re there.

If you’re ready for a smart, sassy companion to hang out with and love to pieces, then I’m your gal. I’ve been spayed, microchipped and I’m up to date on all my vaccines and preventatives. My adoption fee is $100.
