Hello! I’m Bailey’s foster mom, and I’d love to share a little about this sweet girl. Bailey is a delightful three-year-old poodle mix, possibly with some mini Aussie in her. She’s a charming little lady, short and stout, with beautiful black and white fur sprinkled with adorable black freckles. She weighs just over 7 pounds and was very loved by her previous owner, who sadly passed away recently.
When Bailey first arrived at my home, she was a bit shy and reserved. It took her a few days to feel comfortable enough to join the rest of our furry family on the sofa. Now, she’s blossoming! She’s started playing with our 18-month-old Chihuahua, and they both adore chasing squeaky toys and sometimes enjoy a friendly tug of war. I truly believe Bailey would thrive with a playful furry companion by her side. One of the games that Bailey loves is “fetch”. I throw the toy and she runs after it but usually she doesn’t bring it back!
Bailey needs someone who can be home for part of the day, as she enjoys company and doesn’t like being alone too long. She’s also getting used to the dog-friendly cats here — she sometimes growls at them so it may be best if she doesn’t live with cats…for the cats peace :-).
She’s a very well-behaved girl — no accidents in the house since she arrived! She goes outside to do her business and comes right back in. We’re currently working on leash walking, as she’s still gaining confidence there. She loves exploring our fenced yard, which gives her a safe space to roam. I feel that Bailey should have a fenced yard because she’s not great at leash walking and may not potty if on a leash. And because of her small size she needs to be watched to make sure she doesn’t get herself in trouble with roaming critters.
At night, Bailey sleeps peacefully in the big bed with me and the other pets, rarely making a sound. She does bark occasionally if she senses something unusual outside or when I leave the house. She will need time to acclimate to her new home. She recently met a 13 year old and really enjoyed attention she got from her.
Bailey requires regular grooming to keep her comfortable and looking her best, and squeaky toys are her absolute favorite! If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and gentle companion who would enjoy some company during the day and has a sweet heart, Bailey might just be the perfect match.
Bailey is up to date with her vaccinations, heart worm negative, spayed and had a dental. Bailey’s adoption fee is $175.
