• Someone that is looking for a high energy dog who enjoys playing more than he enjoys cuddling!

My name is Bo and I’m a 3-year old neutered male Yorkie weighing 13 pounds. My mom calls me “Busy Bo” because I’m so active. I’m a sweet, happy guy and my favorite thing in the whole world is playing fetch with my toys. I even know how to go find one when you ask me to. I’m a bit timid of new people and dogs, but get along fine with the dogs and cats in my house. I would be fine as an only dog, too, as I prefer fetch over playing with my siblings. I’m good with gentle  children over 8, but new people will need to take their time meeting me so I don’t get scared. 

I am completely potty-trained and get to business right away when I go outside. I don’t mark indoors, but do sometimes have a nervous little piddle if I’m overly excited. I do well on and off leash in a fenced yard, but you will need to be extra cautious around doors because I’m so curious I might bolt right out! I’m completely crate-trained and love going in my crate at night to sleep or if my family needs to run errands.  I also ride well crated in the car. As my hair grows out, I’ll need regular grooming to keep my luxurious locks tangle-free. My foster mom plans to have me groomed soon, but it’ll have to be after the holidays because everyone is so busy. I’ll come with my crate, and my new family should continue to offer it so I have my own safe space and to prevent accidents.

Another thing about me is I can get excited when I hear something outside. This means I sometimes bark and shouldn’t live in an apartment building or attached condos. I’m in great physical shape but did have some allergic spots on my ears and feet when I arrived at SBRET. I get ointment twice a day and had an injection to help clear it up. My new owner will need to monitor my skin and potentially change my diet and/or take me for an injection every couple of months if it comes back.
