Cookie needs:
- Active adult home with children over the age of 10 with someone home during the day
- A fenced yard because she loves to run around and smell everything and can be barky at dogs on walks
- No apartments or condos, since she tends to bark if left alone for an extended period of time
- Steady on your feet since she can get underfoot following you around
- She loves playing with most other dogs but can get a little over zealous…dogs her size or bigger than her would be ideal
- Regular professional grooming and brushing in between—I have a lot of hair!
My name is Cookie, and I have the most adorable underbite you will ever see! I think I am a Shih Tzu mix. I am about one year old and 12 lbs. I love, love, love to play! I’m great at fetching a tennis ball and I’ll even bring it back to you so you can throw it again! I think I would prefer a home with another dog so I have someone to play with; although, I sometimes don’t warm up to a new dog right away. I love going on walks and am learning how to be a good walking partner. I sleep all night quietly in my crate and I love food and treats. I am getting better at being housetrained and as long as I can go outside every couple of hours I have minimal accidents. I am still a puppy and I enjoy chewing so chew toys are a must! I do like to follow my people around so you must be steady on your feet. If you give me a stern “no” when I’m doing something I shouldn’t, I will listen.
I was surrendered because my owner didn’t have enough time for me. I had not had any training before coming to rescue, so I am a work in progress…but I am smart and am learning and have a lot of love to give!
I’m spayed, microchipped, current on my vaccines and preventatives. My adoption fee is $175.
