Dolly needs:

• Dolly  needs an active  home with everyone surefooted and if any children in the home they need to be over eight years old
• Someone home part of the day to continue potty training
• If any dogs in the home, they need to be small like her

Dolly is a 1 year old, 8 pound white scruffy female Terrier  who came into SBRET when her family had a baby and then decided to put her outside to live. Lucky for Dolly she found her way to rescue. She is now learning to love all the best parts of being a dog: warm laps, playtime with toys, snuggles with kids, cats, and puppies; and most importantly, the security of knowing she has a warm bed and roof over her head. Because everything is a first for her, she’s still learning to master potty training and the leash. She loves to wander in her foster mom’s fenced backyard and will even politely bark when she needs to potty outside. She doesn’t require a fenced yard, but will require patience and dedication to learn to potty on leashed walks. 

Because she’s still a puppy, she will do best in a home with someone home most of the day to practice regular potty trips outside and help build her confidence on the leash (if you don’t have a fenced yard). She does well in the car and is quiet as a mouse in her crate at night and when her foster mom leaves her for a couple of hours. She’s pretty smart and figured out a pee pad is a great option when she forgets to ask to go outside. She loves to eat and is food motivated which will make learning tricks a cinch. She has slippy grade 2 knees which is very common in small dogs and requires no intervention (just prevention from jumping off the couch and bed and from putting on extra pounds). She does great with all the small dogs and cats in her foster home and would love a playful sibling, but would also be happy being your one and only official toy fetcher.

Dolly is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $175
