Felecia needs:

• An active adult home or one with children over 12, who is home most of the day
• Dog(s) in the home need to be tolerant of rough play and sturdy – another dog is not required but may help with her energy
• Someone committed to continued training, socialization and exposure

Meet Felecia, a sweet and affectionate 2-year-old, 22 pound hound mix who’s ready to find a forever home! Found as a pregnant stray and brought into an area shelter, her past may be a mystery—but her future is looking bright. Felecia  has raised her puppy and is now searching for a family of her own.

Felecia is full of love and energy! While another playful dog in the home would be ideal to help her burn off some energy, it’s not required if her new family is active and committed to giving her plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Any dog siblings will need to be tolerant and sturdy enough to handle her enthusiastic play style. She can be a bit of a rough-and-tumble player; pouncing, nipping, and lots of chasing so continued guidance and redirection from the humans and other dog(s) will help her learn boundaries. Felecia loves to be outside so a fenced yard would be ideal and helpful for her to burn her energy. 

She’s doing great with house training, is exceptional for car rides, and does well in her crate. Felecia is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash but is making good progress with a harness. She has a tendency to get overly excited; jumping up and getting in your face for affection, so basic manners training is a must. New situations can overwhelm her, and she may shut down at first, but with patient support and positive experiences, she continues to build confidence.

Felecia is looking for an active home that understands the needs of a young, energetic dog who can commit to ongoing training and socialization.
