Grady

Adoption Area: East Tennessee

Grady needs:

  • Adult home or one with children 10 years and older
  • Someone with daytime flexibility to refine my house training skills
  • A dog friend to help me learn your routine

Hello, my name is Grady. I am a 3-year-old, 13-pound, male, Chihuahua Mix. My foster parents think I might have some dachshund or Corgi in me because I have a long body and short legs. I came from a horrible hoarding situation where I was living with seventy other dogs, but I have adjusted well to being in a normal home.

I am laid-back and get along well with the other dogs in my foster home, who are both seniors and not interested in playing with me. Fortunately, I don’t pester them at all and just snuggle up on the “dog bed” couch with them. It would be good for me to have a furry friend at my forever home to help me learn the routine.

I enjoy going for walks around the neighborhood and I ride well in the car. My foster mom puts me in a car seat, and I just curl up and go to sleep. At night I sleep quietly in a crate in my foster parents’ bed, although I might prefer to be in the big bed with my humans. I am doing ok with my house training if I am taken outside regularly, and my humans are patient with me as sometimes it takes me a long time to do my business. When I go to my forever home, SBRET will provide belly bands which I don’t mind wearing (and hopefully I won’t need once you trust my house training skills).

I have been neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines and heartworm/flea prevention. I did not need a dentist as my teeth were in good shape. My adoption fee is $175. If you are looking for a sweet, calm companion who will fit right in with your family, I might be the perfect pup for you!
