My name is Jackson Scott. I am a 5 year old, 9 lb male Chihuahua mix. I came to SBRET after my dad had some health issues and could no longer care for me. 

When I first moved into my foster home I was a little unsettled and I whined a lot! But now that I’ve gotten comfortable I’m much quieter. It may take me a bit in my new home though so I need a patient owner. I love my foster mom but my foster dad is my absolute favorite. When I get up in the morning I always check the house to see if he is home. I enjoy watching TV with him and helping him in the kitchen. 

I like to keep busy by chewing on bones and going for walks in the neighborhood. I am perfect on leashed walks and never pull or bark at strangers. I will greet other dogs if they want to say hello but I’m just as happy to keep on moving. 

I live in harmony with my foster brother but I’m not really interested in playing with him. I would much rather spend time with my people. I haven’t met any cats yet but I think they might be okay to live with.

I sleep in my crate at night.  I’ve even learned the command “Jack in the box” and run right in at bedtime! I also hang out there if no one is home.  I am working hard on my house training and will need someone home part of the day to give me plenty of opportunities to go outside. 

I had some skin issues when I came to SBRET and we think it had to do with the food I was eating. Now I am eating beef protein food and my skin is doing better. Like a lot of small dogs I have slippy knees but they don’t cause me any trouble. By staying slim and fit, I will continue to do well; but the vet should make sure to check them for me every year.
