Meet Lola Marie, a 3 year old female Yorkie mix. Lola is a 16 pound bundle of sweetness, who was surrendered to SBRET when her owner could no longer care for her. She adjusted to her foster home very quickly and has been a delight to care for. Her foster mom quickly became her person, although she gets along well with everyone in the household. She may initially bark and shy away from new people, but given a little space will warm up to them quickly, especially if they are giving out pets and belly rubs. Lola wants to be wherever her people are, with her favorite place being lying beside her foster mom wedged between her and the arm of the chair.

Lola has done well with her housetraining, and does best if taken out every 3-4 hours. She does well on a harness and leash, but a secure fenced yard would be ideal. She enjoys going on walks and makes a great walking companion. Lola does not do well in a kennel, so she sleeps burrowed under the covers in her foster parents’ bed, or in a dog bed beside their bed. She has also been known to sleep under their bed! She sleeps quietly all night and doesn’t stir in the morning until they do. Thunderstorms and sudden loud noises cause her to be anxious {panting and shaking}. She has the same reaction to car rides and vet and grooming visits. She did calm down, once she was at the groomers, and did well for the groomer. She gets along well with the other dogs and cats in the household, but has not initiated play with them. She enjoys playing with squeaky toys and loves to play a game of fetch. If Lola is to be left alone for any period of time, she would do best if she has another small/medium size dog to keep her company.

Lola is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. She is on heartworm and flea prevention and her vet check found no health issues. She is ready to find her forever home! Her adoption fee is $175.
