Adoption Area: East Tennessee
Mei-Ling needs:
- Adult home or one with children 12 years and older
- Regular bathing and skin care
- Someone that likes to walk with me
- No apartments or condos
- Someone knowledgeable about Chinese Crested care
My name is MeiLing. I am a 10-pound, 9-year-old Chinese Crested gal. I found myself homeless after my mom could no longer care for me. Thankfully I found my way to rescue, and I am now ready for the next chapter of my life. I am house trained and great about going potty outside. No inside accidents to date! I go out regularly and walk well on a leash. Since I am mostly hairless, I need to wear a T-shirt if walking in the sun, and of course a warm sweater on chilly days. When I first came to rescue, I used to bark at other dogs when we are out walking but I no longer do that. I would be fine living with other dogs if they are calm like me but I can also be your one and only.
I love sitting with my foster mom when she works at her desk or naps on the couch. I would be happiest in a home with people that are around a lot of the time. When left alone I like to bark and howl for a bit, so no apartment living for me, although I do eventually settle down. I initially growl and bark when I meet new people and I need more time to warm up to men but I quickly bond with women. Since I am house trained, my foster parents let me sleep wherever I want and I have been sleeping on the couch with lots of blankets along with the other senior dogs in my foster home.
If you have knowledge of my breed, you know how loving I can be! I have been spayed, microchipped, and I am current on my flea, tick and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $100.
