My name is Muncie, and I’m a 3-year-old female Scruffy Terrier mix. I’m white and tan weighing in at 13 pounds. I came from a living situation where a lot of dogs such as myself were being very neglected. It took me a day or 2 to settle in to this wonderful normal dog life.
My foster mom kept me separate from the other dogs so I could see what this new place was all about – I stayed in my crate with the door open. I was up in my foster mom’s lap in no time flat. I settled in and have been doing very well. Everyday I’m feeling more confident and trusting. I probably never went outside in my old home, but I have made the potty outside connection pretty quick and am doing well. I’m needing more practice adjusting to a harness/leash – that’s the reason I need a secure fenced yard.
My foster mom crates me when she needs to leave the house to do errands and it took me a little while to adjust to the crate but I have learned she won’t be gone long so I nap. I sleep all night (sometimes I whine a little) with my crate covered in my foster mom’s room. I like to know she’s close by. Maybe after I feel safe and settle in, you’ll let me sleep in the big bed. If there are children (at least 10 years of age) in my new home, they need to be very calm and gentle so I don’t get scared. If you have another friendly small dog, that would be great; but I would also be fine as an only dog . I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home – I’m starting to play with toys and chase the other dogs around the secure fenced yard which makes my foster mom very happy. I’m pretty laid back and would probably be ok living with a cat as long as they keep their distance. I ride well in the car. My foster mom crates me to keep me safe.
