Meet Peep ❤️

Peep is a 3½-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a beautiful strawberry-blond coat, adorable freckle speckles on her chest, an expressive little face, and a personality much bigger than her petite package.

Peep is affectionate, playful, curious, and funny—and she absolutely loves other dogs. Give her a securely fenced yard and some canine friends, and you’ll see her in her element: running, playing, and seeing who she can convince to join the fun.

She has made great friends with the playful dogs in her foster home, including her Frenchie foster brother. She even regularly invites the resident grumpy senior Chihuahua to play. He continues to decline.

Peep remains optimistic. 😂

Peep isn’t looking for long walks or big adventures. Her happy place is home, running and playing in her fenced yard with her dog friends. She would be perfect for someone who gets genuine joy from simply watching dogs play and be happy.

When it’s time to come inside, Peep turns into a blanket burrito. During TV time, she may curl up in a lap, tuck herself behind her foster mom’s head, or burrow under a blanket and snuggle right beside her. She loves being petted and talked to, and baby talk is apparently Peep’s preferred language.

Peep has learned lots of home-living skills since coming into rescue. She’s doing very well with house training, comes inside when called, thrives on routine, and sleeps comfortably in her crate at night.

Peep may need a little time to warm up to someone new, but there’s a pretty reliable shortcut to her heart:

Treats.

Peep is extremely food motivated and loves learning when treats, encouragement, and praise are involved. She has learned to sit and enjoys figuring out what you’re asking her to do. Training is also a great way to build trust with her.

A treat from a new hand helps Peep’s curiosity win over her caution. Give her a little patience and soon those unfamiliar hands become the source of pets, chin scratches, and snuggles.

Peep doesn’t keep a calendar. She’s simply figuring you out:

Are you kind? Am I safe? Do you have snacks? 😉

Peep also has a built-in sound system and isn’t shy about sharing her opinions. Her foster family finds her commentary entertaining, but neighbors might not—which is why she isn’t suited for apartments or homes with shared walls.

The Life Peep Is Looking For

Peep doesn’t need an exciting life. She needs a happy one.

For Peep, that means a safe yard to play in, a canine buddy, people to love, something new to learn now and then, plenty of praise, and a cozy blanket waiting when the day is done.

That’s Peep’s idea of a pretty wonderful life. Maybe it’s yours, too. ❤️

Peep previously had a skin condition that has resolved, and her beautiful strawberry-blond coat is growing in wonderfully.

She is spayed, vaccinated, and on heartworm prevention.

Peep’s adoption fee is $175, plus $25 for an Apple AirTag, for a total adoption cost of $200.
