Piglet needs:

• Active home committed to puppy energy and training requirements
• Children need to be gentle & at least 8 years of age
• Someone home most of the day to continue housetraining
• Need to live in Knoxville area in order to take him for neuter in a month

Sweet and wild Piglet is making his debut! Piglet is a male Chihuahua mix 16 weeks old and 5 pounds. You can’t look at this silly boy and not smile with his pointed ears and cute nose. He is a typical puppy; sweet, fun but a little mischievous. He loves to play, find things to get into and snuggle with his foster family every chance he gets. Another playful dog in the home would be ideal but not required if the adult(s) in his new family are willing to play, play, play and help him burn energy. He gets along great with other dogs but hasn’t been cat tested. 

Piglet is making good progress with housetraining, he knows to potty outside but will potty in the house if not taken out very frequently or left unsupervised for an extended period of time. Continued training will be needed, especially in a new environment and with a new routine. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate although he is an early riser and will occasionally whine. Continued training with leash walking will be needed. He rides well in a car, secured and does well for bathes and nail trims. It will be crucial that his new family continue with socialization and exposing him to new objects and environments. 

Piglet was the runt of his litter and struggled as a puppy causing some developmental delays. His teeth have not fully erupted for his age and his testicles have not descended, and may not. He has not been neutered or microchipped yet. His new adoptive family will be responsible for getting him to our veterinarian to be neutered and microchipped in one month, as SBRET is covering the cost. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm and flea preventive.
