Adoption Area: East Tennessee
Ricky needs:
- Adult home or one with children 8 years and older
- Someone willing to take me for walks for potty breaks
- Regular professional grooming
Hello! My name is Ricky, and I’m a 7‑year‑old, 13‑pound Yorkie mix looking for my forever family. My previous owner could no longer care for me, so SBRET stepped in to help me find a new beginning. I settled into my foster home within a day or two and now happily follow my foster mom around while she works from home. I love being a little shadow and a loyal companion.
I’m good about doing my business outside as long as I’m taken for regular walks every few hours, and I’ll also use pee pads indoors if needed. I get along well with the small senior dog in my foster home. With bigger dogs, I tend to act like the boss, so any larger dog in my new home should be comfortable with my confident personality.
I’m an excellent car rider—my foster mom buckles me into a car seat, and I curl right up and snooze. I also love going for walks, so I’d make a wonderful travel buddy or everyday walking partner.
Since my foster family hasn’t seen me around young children, I’d do best in an adult home or one with kids 8 years and older. At night, I sleep in a cozy dog bed next to my foster parents’ bed, but I’d be perfectly happy snoozing on the human bed if that’s your preference.
If you’re searching for a loyal, affectionate walking companion, I might be the perfect match. I’ve been neutered, microchipped, and am up to date on vaccines and heartworm/flea/tick prevention. I’m scheduled for a dental cleaning on August 26th. I will also get my eyes re-checked to see if I might need eye drops for life for dry eye. After that I’ll be all ready to go to my forever home! My adoption fee is $175.
