Shale

Puppies less than 16 weeks old cannot be placed in apartment complexes as they cannot go out in communal areas until about 10 days after their last vaccine at 16 weeks.

Shale needs:

  • A home that’s used to having a tiny dog in the house, and where everyone in the home is sure-footed and steady on their feet;
  • Children should be over the age of 8 due to my tiny size;
  • A small dog  to keep me company and to snuggle with at night would be great;
  • Someone home most of the day to continue my house training.

Hey everyone! My name is Shale, and I am a tiny 12-week-old Chihuahua/ Dachshund girl weighing in at 2.4 lb. So the first thing you might notice about me is my size, but the thing that will really get your attention is my color. Nope, foster mom doesn’t need to adjust her camera, I really am gray with some beautiful tan markings.

My vet says my coloring is diluted, which is caused by a gene passed on to me from my mom and dad. She says actually I am a lavender, which is pretty cool if you ask me!  Even though my coat is gorgeous, I do need a little special care because I am prone to a form of hair loss and dry skin. I might need a moisturizing shampoo or a supplement and extra care when I’m out in the sun so I don’t get a sunburn. Or I might not need any of those things, who knows? Just wanted to throw it out there because nobody likes surprises!

I am a feisty little girl who is going through my bitey phase. The sharp puppy teeth usually start falling  out at about 4 months so until then you’ll just have to protect your toes 😁 I love to play with my brother all day and I don’t like it at all when he’s not here so I would love a home that has a little friend for me to play with. Otherwise I get lonely and scared and you are going to hear about it!

I’m a good little eater and I love my dry kibble. I sleep quietly all night in the indoor puppy pen with my brother, so if I have a friend to sleep with I’ll do okay. I like to run around outside chasing the birds and squirrels, even though they’re mostly bigger than me. I don’t need a fenced yard, but I do like the fresh air and I hope you do too because I’m too small to ever be left outside by myself.  Potty training is a work in progress, so I will need your help to figure all that out.

So if you like a lot of attention and are okay with people looking at me to see what a beautiful coat I have, go to SBRET.com, and fill out an application so we can meet. I’m even more beautiful in person!

I’m up to date on all my shots and will be spayed and microchipped before I leave. My adoption fee is $175
