Shelby needs:
- Prefer to be the only dog.
- Children need to be at least 12 years old.
- Someone home a good part of the day
- Can afford my $25 monthly medication cost
Hi! My name is Shelby and I am a 5 year old 11 lb female Chihuahua mix. I would make a wonderful companion as I love spending my day being close to you either on the sofa or my dog bed while you work.
I take being your companion seriously and I want to be your one and only. I can easily go out on walks or being in public with you but again, I don’t like to share and prefer all the attention. I am slow to warm up to strangers so if you entertain a lot or have a busy household, I may not be the one for you.
Apartments might not work as I can bark if I see something out the window that may be a threat, like the mailman!
As far as my health goes, I have air-borne allergies that are treated with some Prednisone and Zyrtec. I do really well on that but as you probably know Prednisone can make you pee a lot so that is why it’s best for someone home a good part of the day. It was agreed by all that although long-term Prednisone may shorten my life, my quality of life is worth it!
Otherwise, I am a sweet, smart, lovable girl that is not only crate-trained but is good with car rides and walks on a leash. I will even sleep in a crate at night but really, who wouldn’t want to cuddle with me? I’m adorable!
My adoption fee is $175. I am spayed, micro-chipped, full vaccinated and on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
