Rest In Peace Sweet Salvador

In 2007, SBRET rescued several dogs from a puppy mill that was shutting down. Little did we know how that rescue would impact our lives. We met baby Salvador at his foster home a few weeks after his rescue. We fell in love with him the first time we saw him. There he stood with shiny black and tan fur… all 3 pounds and only 8 inches high. He was standing at the top of a steep stone stairway staring down as if he were overlooking his kingdom: batting his big brown eyes with his little tan chest stuck out proud and strong.

Anyone who knew Salvador loved his sweet and loving nature, his gentle human-like eyes, and his slight hint of dachshund stubbornness. We loved our boy with all our hearts. He made our family complete and we loved coming home to him every day after work. Our little Salvador fought a hard and long battle against liver disease before he was taken from us in November 2018. Our hearts were broken, and we continue to miss him every day.
