Sammi

Rest in Peace Sammi

Sammi came to SBRET in August 2018 and had been struggling with fly
biting seizures from the start…most likely even before he came to
rescue. His fly biting seizures continued to get worse, though many steps
were taken to try and control them. In the end, Sammi could not even
sleep. When Sammi clasped his arms around his foster mom’s neck in the
middle of the night, and she saw how afraid he was, his foster mom knew
it was time to let him go. He had fought this too long, and as much as his
foster mom and dad loved him, they couldn’t let him suffer anymore.

Sammi had scrambled eggs for breakfast, and then treats of bacon
pieces on his way to and at the vet’s. His foster mom gave him the last
of his bacon before he fell asleep for the last time. Before Sammi fully
lost consciousness, he turned to look at his foster mom and she got a
kiss. He may not have known what he was doing by then, but she will
always remember it. Sammi’s foster mom and dad loved on him all they
could in his last few minutes, and then …Sammi ran across the Rainbow
Bridge.

Sammi’s foster parents are thankful they got to know, and
foster, this sweet little boy.
